At Spitfire Creek, on the way to the Cape we read the Moreton Experience book “Reluctant Explorers”. This booklet, prepared by Alan relates the story of Phamphlett, Finnegan and Parsons who were shipwrecked at Spitefire Creek in 1823. The Cape Moreton Lighthouse built in 1857. The Moreton Island Information centre is located one of the light keepers cottages. Sweeping views of the ocean. Manta rays, dolphins and turtles are commonly seen. Whales are also seen from early June to late October. If the tide is suitable we also visit the rocky shore at North Point
