Departure
Departs MICat ferry terminal 14 Howard Smith Drive, Port of Brisbane.
Arrive at 7.30am for stress free loading and parking.
Your luggage will be packed in the Defender for the MICat ferry journey.
MICat departs 8.30 am.
Friday Departure - Meeting instructions
Meet Alan on the footpath at the back of the Caltex truck stop – (opposite Owens Transport located at 4 Howard Smith Drive). When entering Howard Smith Drive from Osprey St turn right. Wait opposite the VERY prominently signed Owens Transport sign, near the exit of the truck stop – leave plenty of room to allow trucks to easily exit. Please arrive by 7.30 for a stress free loading of your luggage. Look for a white Defender with white covered trailer.
The Defender will leave at 7.50 am to load on the MICat. (If late your luggage will have to be carried onto the MICat.) MICat departs 8.30am.
Red arrow meet here Green on road free parking
Once you have transferred your luggage then proceed to park your car. Two choices;
park inside the terminal grounds at your own risk for a cost of $15 per day – pay only for parking at the ticket office – Your MICat ticket is paid for by Moreton Experience.
park outside the terminal at no cost and probably even less risk than inside the terminal (my personal opinion). The road is within The Port of Brisbane and so is monitored by Port Security. Have never heard of a problem. Best to go past the MICat entry gate to park. Do not park where there are yellow lines as you will likely be fined. After parking walk to the ticket office and identify yourself as being with Alan/ Moreton Experience. To obtain boarding ticket.
Ferry Details
The MICat will not wait for late passengers but sometimes departure is delayed by a few minutes. If you are late or have missed the MICat text Alan to see what your options are. If vehicle is available it may be possible to collect you from a latter ferry but this will incur extra costs.
The MICat lands at The Wrecks and from there it takes up to an hour to travel to Moreton Experience’s Blue Lagoon camp.
Return leaves Moreton 3.30 pm Sunday arriving at the Port at 5pm.
Camp facilities Photos of the campsite and its location can be found at www.moretonexperience.com

Torch – Kitchen area is lit but there is no lighting in the sleeping tents.
Sleeping bag or alternative plus pillow
Insect repellent and sunscreen (Only during NW winds are mosquitoes noticeable and they usually retire before we retire.)
The fresh water Blue Lagoon is an easy 10 minute walk from camp and is excellent for swimming. Swimming from the Ocean beach is not safe as there are no life savers, no shark nets offshore and the beach is notorious for rips.
